Holding APEC Chemical Dialogue
APEC(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Chemical Dialogue will be held in Hiroshima(Venue: Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima). On March 1 and 2, workshop will be held to encourage the delegates to share information and exchange views with a range of stakeholders, especially regulators, on approaches for the sound management of industrial chemicals across the APEC economies. Mr.T.Nishide, Director General of Japan Chemical Industry Association(JCIA) will make a presentation on “Chemical Industry’s Upcoming Approaches to Chemicals Management” and Dr.F.Shono, General Manager, Chemicals Management Department of JCIA, on “The framework of information gathering sharing and base set of information risk characterization”. On March 3 and 4, Chemical Dialogue Steering Group Meeting will be held. In this meeting, following items are expected to be reported or discussed. a)GHS Implementation, b)Regulatory Best Practices for Chemicals Management, c)Implementation of REACH and other Regulatory Schemes Affecting the Chemicals Sector, d)Trade and Investment Liberalization and Facilitation including Simplification and Harmonization of Chemicals Rules of Origin, e)The Strategic Role of the Chemical Sector.
